A police officer in Paterson discharged a firearm while apprehending suspects following a pursuit, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes said. After a chase through Paterson and Haledon on Monday night, the vehicle police were pursuing became disabled behind a residential building, officials said.
