The US foreign broadcaster Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL) opened a new office in Latvia on Thursday evening to provide coverage on Russia. The office aims to “counter Kremlin disinformation and provide Russian speaking audiences with trusted news and objective reporting,” said a press release. “It will allow us to reach a growing audience in Russia despite the Kremlin’s crackdown on our journalists and independent media,” RFE/RL president Jamie Fly said at the official opening.
