Gabriel Clemens was looking for the positives after bowing out of the PDC darts World Championship having made history as the first German man to reach a semi-final. “Hopefully I now have a day off,” he said after losing 6-2 to England’s Michael Smith at London’s Alexandra Palace. Several hundred German fans have been turning up to the venue over recent days to roar on Clemens as darts gains wider popularity in Germany. “The disappointment hurts. I lost so I’m not in a great mood. But I will soon realize that I can take a lot of positives away.”
