The immunity of two members of the European Parliament who are under investigation in a corruption scandal linked to Qatar is to be lifted. Belgian authorities requested the waiving of immunity for two socialist lawmakers, Belgian Marc Tarabella and Italian Andrea Cozzolino, EU Parliament President Roberta Metsola said on Monday in the French city of Strasbourg.
